The star of these photos is Paul's Patty with her jugs. Very sexy. (Paul made her do it.) *Note Lucy with Santa Pants: a Feltz-O'Leary totem.* Christa & Dave and Matthew & Bethany were here too. Also, Paul & Patty's Michael. Brother Rob came, briefly. He fell asleep at home and came after everyone had left.
A happy family Christmas with Dan & Michol; Cathy O'L; Mary B & Patrick; Danny & fiancee Mel; Rob and friend Erin; Katy & Brian, proud parents of Lucy. (The tired woman stretching is Katy); Joanna (aka: Slow Jo, the late Joanna O'Leary, Joker, Joanna Banana, Jaker-nan, etc); and, the Star of the Moment, Little Lucy.
Couldn't resist showing photo of three umbrellas in ascending (l-r) or descending (r-l) magnitude. Got to love cellphones with cameras!

My first attempt to caption a New Yorker magazine cartoon. Sent in the caption: "We rent these units to string-theory physicists". Don't expect to win but fun to try. String theory physicists postulate a universe of many dimensions. I suggested sideways-living might be one of the dimensions.
If you enlarge photo (click once) and look closely, you will see a down-&-out street person, sitting against the Gap store opposite the University Club on 54th and 5th. Dan watched a well-dressed young businessman approach him and gently place a bag of food in his hand. The man gave him the finger but kept the food: a New York City moment.
More photos of Shelly's wedding. Oh, OK---one of these doesn't belong. The last one is of little Lucy in her aunt Jo's arms at Thanksgiving, wearing the hat Patty gave her.
Yesterday Dan and I took a long walk to the north end of the island. As we approached a house on the right, but before we could see it, we heard loud howling. Big voice, big dog, we thought. Be careful, we thought. This is what we came upon: a little beagle on a tree stump. We laughed. Then we saw the sign. No wonder he was perturbed.
This is a learning process. Hope to figure it out. One big curiosity is how to insert photos. Willattempt now. It worked! This is little Lucy, our new and first grandchild.
